Little League

Joshua has joined the ranks of millions of little league baseball players this year. We have looked forward to this with much anticipation! His first game was this past Saturday and you wouldn't believe what a gorgeous morning it was for it! On average it has been 10 degrees cooler than normal this Spring. So when we had to be there by 8:30am, I thought we would all freeze! I brought hats, gloves and heavy coats, but thanks to no wind and the sunshine, we were almost warm, even though it was in the 40's.

Joshua is a very sensitive kid by nature, so learning how coaches coach, in general, is a learning curve for him. Joshua was concerned they were being mean and not using their "manners" - funny boy. At dinner last night we encouraged him by saying "they aren't there to be your mama!". And then I told them funny stories of coaches from back in my ball playing days and how sometimes they were "mean". The kids got a kick out of my stories :). Anyway, Nate and I have both been at practices, and the coaches are doing a great job and very age appropriate for this level of little league.

Anyway, it's exciting to watch him improve his skills and sharpen his smarts about the game of baseball. I'm learning lots myself!

Here he is, the Little Leaguer himself!

This is Isaac...missing his morning nap

This is how Isaac and Jenna spent some of their time, eating their snacks.

Very cute, the boys had to be taught how to line up and shake the other teams hand. The things you never think about...
