Pre-K Graduation and Other Random Things

Hello again, finally. It feels SO good to be doing normal things again, like blogging. I feel like I'm just to the point where I can be consistent with blogging again, but now we're getting ready for a long trip back to the Midwest. I already know I'm not very good at updating while on vacation. So, it may be awhile again, we'll see. We return the first of July.

Joshua had his pre-K graduation last Friday. Such a fun little experience (except for the sappy part of feeling like I wanted to cry when they walked into the ole Pomp and Circumstance!). Who wouldn't be imagining their child in that same situation in about 13 years!?! I know time will fly. Anyway, pre-K at Dupree was such a great experience for him and us. We value the Christian education he received there and so appreciated his teacher, Mr. Allan. All the kids loved Mr. Allan.

I never know how much to spill out on my blog, but I'll give a few other snip-its. Jenna was potty trained but regressed 100% since my pregnancy began. Could be blamed on many abnormal circumstances, but nonetheless, it's simply come down to the fact that she hasn't made up her mind to do it! Stinker. Last night I asked her, "Where does your pee pee go?" Her reply, "On the front porch! (no) On Mommy's lap! (no) On Daddy's lap! (no)", you get the idea, she's ornery and she knows! She did finally say "the toilet!", along with a big grin. We've tried everything. Currently, the coveted blankie is at stake each time she goes in her pants - she's been dry all day, hmmmm. I'm not holding my breath though.

Our very dear friend, actually more of a family member to us, passed away on Tuesday. He was one of our adoptive grandparents when we lived on the Shore. We'll go to that funeral this weekend. We are so sad to see him go, he will be dearly missed. He is truly a part of our lives in so many ways.

Nate continues to stay busy with writing papers (he's not in class at the moment, this is actually for money - too complicated to explain), his editorial assistant job and other odds and ends.

I'm hanging right in there! I'm in week 19 and very excited to be near the halfway point. Once again, I'm so thankful to be 'living' again. Even the little things, like writing a grocery item on the fridge list, remind me of what a gift it is to be functional again. I've been feeling baby move now, never until the evening though, when I'm still. What a miracle babies are.

Lastly, we are all so very excited for our road trip to OK/KS! We're taking our time getting out there to make it sort of a family vacation. The last night before we arrive we get to stay a night with the Edwards in Memphis, for which we are very excited!!

That's enough. Blessings to all and thanks for listening and looking :)! Janel

Joshua and Jenna's favorite hiding spot.

A 'snapshot' of things to come...all too quickly I'm sure.

The Pre-K class sang two, very cute songs. In this one they each stood up when their name was mentioned.

A good looking audience :)!

A proud little graduate!

Joshua's teacher, Mr. Allan - a GREAT teacher!

First corn on the cob of the summer (not local), but it turned out very sweet and yummy!! One of Joshua's favorites.
