February 2012 Highlights

Well, considering I've done pretty rotten at keeping up with my blog in late 2011, I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping my word and posting some February highlights!

Other than Lego exhibit adventures (which we went on a Thursday night, through heavy NJ traffic - ugh! - all b/c Thursday night admission is free!:), Valentine's festivities including an 'all thing's pink' dinner, school parties, and beautiful roses and chocolate's from my fabulous hubby, the biggest highlight of the month was Jenna Jo's 5th birthday!!! Along with a special visit from Grandma just for the occasion!

Five seems big to me. Jenna has come so far from those very rough toddler years. I have to say, we're really proud of the little girl she is growing into. May she continue to grow up to be kind, considerate, and to love the Lord! We love you Jenna Jo!

And a big thanks to Grandma Kauffman for coming to visit on such a special ocassion. It means the world to me to have family here for my kid's birthdays. AND, I forgot to mention that Nate and I were able to get away for a night, thanks to Grandma as well!! What a treat! Thanks mom!

I picked up some domino's and the kid's loved them! Such a simple, yet great game for the kid's to play. All sorts of learning opportunities, especially for Jenna.

Isaac loves to have Nate play his "big 'tar". Isaac then loves to try it out on one his size.

The following pictures are from a Lego exhibit we went and saw at the Morris Museum in Morristown. It was really cool!

Notice on the red face there are even eyelashes!

Jenna's reaction when Grandma told her we got to go to the American Girl doll store in NYC.

This was Jenna's special treat for her 5th birthday, a trip to the American Girl doll store with Grandma and me. We had such a great time!

Jenna and I being silly in the bathroom, waiting on Grandma :).

Jenna loves pizza, so pizza was on the menu for lunch!

There's no time for dawdling in NYC! Not even to eat. This was the sign posted in McD's there. I found it comical.

The doll of choice! Jenna wanted to get one that most closely resembled her. I think she chose very well.

Jenna had her first true girly party. All but one of these girls go to pre-K together, so they were very use to each other. They are all wonderful little girls and it went so well. Although I think it went especially smooth thanks to Grandma's help!

Mom and I made strawberry cupcakes with chocolate covered strawberries on top! Very yummy!

Isaac enjoyed the cupcakes as well!

The butterfly craft the girls did. They did a really nice job and had fun flying them all over the house.

Jenna loves to play with 'pets'. Thankfully that hasn't turned into wanting a real pet yet!! This is one to go with her new doll.

Happy Birthday our dear sweet Jenna Jo!

Isaac is in that cute phase where he loves to imitate whatever goes on in his little world. He loves to put this ear warmer on and pronounce, "I'm going running!" and then proceed to blaze a trail all over the house (I think it's safe to say he's not imitating Daddy :).

Oh, so much fun!!! So glad you got to go to the American Girl store with Jenna and your mom. I hope to take Anna to one of those someday. I think there is one in Atlanta. Anyway, such great pictures. Jenna looks so grown up to me. And of course Isaac.
