Our family did have a slumber party in the one bedroom living room side for the night. Mostly we were concerned about tornadoes and not knowing. Isaac's bedroom windows leaked last year when we had 30-40 mph winds, so I didn't want to worry about how bad they were leaking while he slept in there. I slept better knowing we were all together.
Thanks to all for your thoughts, prayers and phone calls!
Yesterday we brought all the playground toys into our basement. This morning the basement was about 3-4 inches deep in water, you can see why from the picture below this next one...
One of the two holes allowing water to pour into our basement.
The bus stop. Our apt is just their to the left, you can see two of our windows. Praise God all these trees stayed upright!
This is the golf course on our way to the bridge
Getting ready to cross the canal path bridge
Joshua has a long stick that is touching the water. I'm going to guess the water is about 12 inches from touching the bridge.
This was taken looking to the right just after you cross the bridge. Anyone up for a jog?!?
again, this is to the right of the bridge
after you cross the bridge, looking left
this is the golf course behind the canal path, typically the greens don't flood, not this time!
looking north of the bridge, you can see the tree branches from the side of the path, now touching the water
but by my front door, the flowers survived (we put my window boxes in the basement)...
and that makes this momma happy...end of tour.

SO glad for the update! I can't imagine all that water! I'm so glad that it wasn't too severe--thankful you didn't lose electricity and your apartment is mostly normal! We've sure been thinking of you TONS! Thanks for posting all the pictures! We love you and miss you!
Wow! You had a lot more flooding than we had. Glad your family is safe and sound.
Thanks for the pictures-- we were wondering how it was in Princeton. I remember one year the canal and golf course flooded bad but can't remember how bad or why it flooded...
After hearing all the media accounts of the hurricane damage, I was interested in hearing from the locals. Thanks for the post and the pictures. Surviving yet another of life's storms builds hope, strength, and faith God's enduring love.
Love to the Stucky's from the M-J's.
