So far, Joshua is enjoying first grade. He likes to tease by saying, "I don't like school and I'm not learning anything!" But we know different! He thinks that's funny b/c that's what one of his good friends says (with a twinkle in his eye). By his actions, he does seem to be enjoying it. If he wants to stay home, it's only b/c he'd rather be playing with his toys. For me, it's definitely been an adjustment having him gone all day, but seeing him thrive in that setting helps ease the letting go process.
Jenna is doing preschool with me 4 days a week. It has been so good for her and I to have this intentional time together. We do our preschool while Isaac takes his morning nap so I can be completely focused. The benefits of this time for her and I are too many to describe, but I am thankful for the positive benefits I feel we are reaping from it!
One of the last times at our indoor pool...sadness. It's actually going to be torn down this week, weather permitting.
Joshua's first day of first grade! Only boy first graders here this year.
Hang'n out before Joshua's first day of first grade!
Bus time!
Joshua LOVES riding the bus. Last year when I would volunteer in his classroom and be able to take him home afterward, he would still choose to ride the bus. I can only imagine that might change somewhere in the future...
This is how Isaac goes down for nap. He's always found something funny about it!
This is when Jenna split her skin open while accidentally doing a front flip on our porch railing. I was standing right beside her talking to Emily (pictured), not my proudest mommy moment. Lucky for us, my brother had left me with some Dermabond several months ago and I have a paramedic for a neighbor! Between his experience and my rusty skills, we played ER in our kitchen and got her all fixed up! Yeah for avoiding the ER!
