I talked to Janel this morning. So good to hear her voice. This sleeping alone grows more miserable by the day.
They turned Isaac's oxygen up to .3 liters last night. That makes for no net gain in oxygen levels over the last 24 hours. The gastro people are supposed to come in first thing this morning to take out the Ph probe. Supposedly, they will interpret the data quickly, and let us know what the results are. At this point, we find ourselves hoping that he does have some measurable level of reflux. That would be something to easily and tangibly treat. It might also stem the tide of further testing.
One bit of good news. When they did an x-ray on Isaac yesterday to ensure the Ph probe was properly inserted, they also discovered that his lungs look almost completely clear. We're obviously thrilled about this, but at the same time it begs the question: If his lungs are clear, why is he not maintaining his blood oxygen saturation?
This morning I am out of words to describe our emotional/psychological/spiritual condition. Will post more later.

Dear Isaac,
I have been talking to your Mom and Dad, but now I am going to talk to you. First and foremost we are so glad to have you here and think you are especially cute(like your brother and sister). Second, it has come to our attention that you are a bit of a genius. You figured out so fast what a awesome Mom you have. She's loving, smart, and very pretty. You figured out how you can have her all to yourself for a while! Very smart. But now we have to get serious. Thanksgiving is coming and there is a male bonding experience that you will not want to miss. All the men hover over the stuffing and eat until they explode. It happens every year. You will be the guest of honor this year, because you will be what we are most thankful to have. Now that you are aware of all this we are sure you will get yourself discharged soon.
Much Love, Parsons, Harding, and Long families.
We are hoping and praying for your family! I continue to think about you all throughout the day, as I keep hoping to check your blog to find news that he is coming home.
We are hoping and praying that Isaac turns the corner soon and that your whole family will be reunited once again. It has been long and difficult...don't be hard on yourself for the mixed bag of emotions and feelings that are surfacing...let us as family, community and friends do the hoping and praying for you while you go through the motions of coping and care-giving...hugs and much love!!!
