Test Results (edited)

So when Janel went to bed last night she was under the impression that Isaac was first on the list for the upper GI this morning(8:00). Through a long a dramatic (though not toooooo traumatic) sequence of events, Isaac was not even taken from his room until 11:15 this morning. Sheesh.

Sounds like Isaac did great through the whole thing, and (I know this is shocking) all tests came back negative: No significant reflux, no aspirating, no fistula between his esophagus and trachea. And (again, don't hold your breath) on top of all this, somewhere in the midst of the test they realized Isaac was not on any oxygen. They looked at his monitor, and his sats were 99%. They left him off oxygen until Janel was feeding him when they dipped into the upper 80's. When I talked to Janel (I've been home this morning), Isaac's sats were running upper 90's on .3 liters flowing into only one nostril (later I talked to Janel, and somehow Isaac had managed to move around so both prongs were in). That feels pretty good--perhaps we're moving forward again.

Of course, there is another test they're considering (supposedly a more accurate test for reflux than the upper GI). Pray we have wisdom as to whether or not to go for it.

Thanks for your prayers...I'm heading to the hospital this afternoon and will try to post another update from there.

Your family at Zion is praying with you. Aiden and Livvie have added you to there list - well I added Isaac and they have continued the prayer. Be Strong and let your heart take courage.

This sounds so encouraging! Just a question - why do another test for reflux? Don't lots of babies have reflux that they outgrow? If it would have been serious, wouldn't it have showed up on the test today? If they do find some reflux on the next test, then what? Would they treat it? If not, what's the point? Just curious!

YEA for Isaac's sats. We'll keep hoping and praying for continued improvement!!! Love you!

We waited eagerly for the news of how our little guy made out. What a trooper! Guess that prayer we said for Janel to have wisdom and strength was answered!! Praying!
