Baby Steps

It's Thursday morning, and I'm home for a little while. I need to work some more on Joshua's Halloween costume (he's going to be a Lego), pay some bills, and take care of a few odds and ends. Some great friends of ours are on their way to visit Janel and Isaac so I'm feeling a little more free to go later this morning.

Right now Grandma Mary and Jenna are stirring up cookies and getting ready to go shopping. (Have I mentioned how inexpressably amazing Mary has been through all of this? We would be despondent without her!) Joshua's off to school.

Before I get to work I thought I'd give a couple pieces of small but good news for the morning:

-Isaac woke up for every feeding on his own last night, and Janel slept well in between feedings.

-Sounds like we've got another great nurse for today.

-Isaac will get his last dose of antibiotics at 9:00 this morning.

-Our nurse this morning said there shouldn't be any reason we can't go straight home from PICU, without a stay on the Peds floor.

-IF (and sometimes it feels like an impossible 'if') Isaac would follow the pattern of Joshua and Jenna, he would come home today or tomorrow (day 8 or 9). Today is exceptionally unlikely. But tomorrow...??? We hope for this, but we're doing the best we can to prepare ourselves mentally for a longer stay.

Thanks again to all who are praying, visiting, giving, encouraging, listening, crying, laughing, and hoping with us. We love you all.
