To begin, we're doing great! Isaac is big and growing bigger! He sat in the hospital FOREVER, as most of you know, but he's wasting no time in trying to catch up with his big brother and sister. IN FACT, he's already half of Jenna's weight! He weighed in at 14lbs and 1oz at his two month appt. Currently he's learning to be a good sleeper, giving us lots of great smiles and studying his hands ALL THE TIME! It even appears that he's trying to reach for toys we dangle over his face now. So fun! OH! And in the midst of sleep training, he's definitely taken a liking to his left thumb.
So we took another long drive back to the Midwest for Christmas. The kids did great and Isaac never even fussed until 30 minutes from Mom and Dave's house. We did the drive in two days. Nine hours the first day and 14 the second. Thanks to the Miller Clan, we had a wonderful place to stop for the night inbetween. We did the return trip in 3 days.
Once in Oklahoma we had a great time, with the most memorable moment being when it started snowing on Christmas Eve! We got around 6-8 inches, which basically shuts everything down there. No Christmas Eve program, no church on Sunday, etc. Thankfully most of the family lives close, so there were still many family gatherings to be had. Playing in the snow and sledding were definitely highlights of the trip.
Next we trekked to Kansas for more great memories to be made. Lots of Rook, fun celebrating Grandpa Jo's 60th, ethnic food baking day, and on and on!
So be forewarned, there are lots of pictures below. I could have posted more, but there's a limit on patience for this mama (it took the pic's awhile to upload). Anyway, enjoy and blessings to all! Thanks for looking - Janel
Do you think she's comfortable???
Sacked out!
We may look like bad parents here, but really it was one of our many stops we made to feed Isaac.
The crazy blue sunglasses showed up again on the long journey!
This might become a tradition!! Another fun night with girls I grew up with while we were all around for Christmas. Thanks again Jill!
The snow was beautiful. Nate captured this great shot of Mom and Dave's house.
Christmas day, one very thankful, happy, HEALTHY family
Jenna helping Grandma make the traditional butterhorn rolls for our Christmas dinner
Joshua having fun with Papa in the snow!
Jenna had SO MUCH fun playing with Katelyn! She's still talking about her.
Grandma K catching up on some much needed 'Isaac time'
Bedtime story with Papa
Look'n good Kara!
Not Jenna's 'first' haircut, but it was her first haircut by a beautician!
Fun with Uncle Brad and cousin Braden
The whole Stucky tribe
Here is a glimpse into the process of getting a picture of the Stucky grandchildren this Christmas...
(I think my daughters personality is shining through by this point! Can you say, 'I am dramatic and would like to be in control!!')
The final product!! What you can't see are all the crazy nuts behind the camera helping to make this picture a success!
The eldest grandchild was weary of smiling
Storytime with Grandma Jo
I don't think of our family as being 'loud' in general. But something about hotels brings on much silliness and ruckous from my kids. I believe the picture below captures why the neighbors beat on our wall shortly after we arrived - oops!!! :) This was at a hotel in Troy, IL, on our way back home.
Back at home, Little Bugs is getting good at finding his thumb!
A trio of much cuteness (in my humble opinion)
I think Joshua might be trying to encourage Isaac to suck his thumb, and Isaac thinks it's funny!
Jenna doting on Isaac
Isaac with his thumb again...
