A Big Day

Allow me to share something that will not surprise you in the least (at least not if you know Janel)...My wife is an amazing woman. Really, that's an understatement. She is far beyond an amazing woman. This whole having three kids business is an insane amount of work, and I can't imagine another person handling it with more grace, beauty, and wisdom. She's just flat out making it happen.

Of course, if you ask her, the report wouldn't be quite so rosy. That's one of the beauties of the angels in our lives...they never see themselves that way.

This week I've been feverishly working on end of semester stuff, and since I had a 4:30 meeting on campus, I was gone from after lunch until 5:30. When I got home, dinner was ready to eat, Joshua and Jenna were playing happily, and Isaac was rocking in the swing. They had all been on a walk earlier in the afternoon, gotten the mail, and somewhere in the midst of it, Janel even found a few minutes to lay down and rest. Need I say more?? She's amazing.

Obviously, not every moment in our lives looks like 5:30 today. Not even close. But it takes one heck of a woman to make it happen at all.

In other news, Isaac seems to be doing very well. He is gaining weight like a prime angus in the fats lot (sorry, couldn't resist), and seems to be finding his voice and smiling responsively. What a miracle.

Joshua and Jenna are pumped for Christmas. We're all pumped to travel west to spend time with family.

I think that's all for now...just wanted to brag on my wife a little!
