The move to our duplex went so smoothly, thanks to our mom's coming and helping. There aren't words to say how much we appreciated them taking the time to fly out and help. Something about having family come is very motivating and we got lots and lots done. Actually, by the time they were both gone, pictures were on the walls, shelves decorated (and painted) and everything feeling pretty much unpacked and ready to live in. I'll let the pictures tell more of the story below. (Have I mentioned before that we just moved to the other end of the building? Literally, out one door and in the next, no trucks or any kind of vehicle needed for anything - very nice.)
Grandma Jo was a tremedous help! This is how her first night at our place started off. Not only packing, but painting too! And she'd been up since 4am her time!
Jenna was excited to help Grandma Jo put stuff in the box.
Joshua has gotten quite the little reputation for being a good painter. He was glad to help out with this cabinet since he was in bed for the painting of the first one.
Jenna loves tea parties. Here she had informed Grandma that they needed to pray first.
Hard to believe (actually not if you know our mothers), but even in the midst of moving there was time for some ethnic food making - verinike!
Jenna even got in on the action.
The moving crew minus Nate. Thanks a million times over Mom and Mama Jo!!!!!
Taking a well deserved break from all the moving stuff. Root beer floats, yummy.
We are very excited about the new view from our dining area of our apt. - lots of great trees. Unfortunately the very beautiful cherry blossom tree 'broke' one morning and they decided to take the whole thing down - much depression. It was huge.
Joshua has visions of making a pile of sticks all around the edge of the stump and turning it into a fort.
A sweet picture with Daddy - a great Daddy at that!!
So you might roll your eyes at this one, but... I can't stand all the nasty corners, etc. in these old apt's we live in. I woke up on the last morning my mother was here only to find her scraping the floors with a knife to make them 'look' (and feel) better too me. I'm afraid Jenna is already getting in on the anal cleanliness of her mother and grandma. Thanks mom!!
One super sweet boy!
Jenna's first night in her 'big girl' bed. She was very, very excited. (we actually only had the box springs at this point, but we made a soft enough bed that she didn't know the difference)
Baby gives lots of good kicks these days. The kid's enjoy the movement from baby.
A morning at the PU fountain - basically a huge wading pool. So fun!
Lots of friends came to play also - yeah!!
William, Maggie and Joshua
When Nate goes to get the kids first thing in the morning, they LOVE to 'hide' from him. This is where he found Jenna one morning!! Nate said when he first walked in she was wiggling very hard to get in there and then she just sat real still! Good one, sis!
Joshua's hiding place was a bit tougher to spot! :)
